Il Castro era un’occupazione abitativa romana, un rifugio per gli esclusi, una casa per tanti ma di nessuno. Per più di dieci anni è stata una possibilità di vita per molte famiglie. Ieri era tollerato, oggi non esiste più. Oltre un anno di riprese, per rivelare il quotidiano di una comunità che vive in una situazione straordinaria. Il Castro come una torre di Babele, che si racconta con la lingua dai mille accenti e da un’unica semantica, quella del diritto negato, quella del bisogno inevaso.

“Castro” was a roman housing settlement, a shelter for the left out, a home for many but none’s. For more than 10 years it was a life chance for many families. Yesterday it was tolerated, today it does not exist anymore. It took more than a year shooting to reveal the daily life of a community which lives in extraordinary conditions. Castro as a tower of Babel, told through a language with thousands of accents but unique semantics, the one of denied rights, the one of unfulfilled need.
